The 6 pound ball that I throw :)

My 100 meter hurdles! :)

Go Track! Whoooooooo!

Track has been so FUN!! I started track 2 weeks ago! I thought track would be a good thing for me to do because it could help me learn lessons and to start running again! On the first day of track I thought I wasn't going to make it to the eighth grade because it was so tiring!! At after school practice, I saw April Beck doing these hurdles. So I went over to see how she was jumping these hurdles. I watched for a sec and tried the hurdles. I got over the first hurdle! I thought I was a pro but I am not so...........after a few days I was getting the hang of jumping these hurdles. Then my coach, Erica Ingersoll, went and told my other coach, Natalie Lewis, that they have two hurdlers, April Beck and ME!! So after that I was I love with track! I started to go to track everyday and practicing. Then I sighned up for the shot put and the hundred meter. On Tuesday, April 7th was our first track meet! We were going against American Falls, Bear Lake and Snake River. My first race to do was my hurdles. And the scary thing was that April Beck and I were the shortest girls doing the hurdles. The other girls were 6ft and I am 5ft4" and April is 5ft! So when the gun went off I raced my hardest to the hurdles and April and I were in the lead. She was first and I was in second place! So I was at the tenth hurdle and made it over then I stopped after the tenth hurdle because I thought you stopped there and you were finished! Nope!I still had ten meters to run to the finish line! So........................I got last. Whoops! :) Then I had to run over to the shot put throw! I was really good at throwing and then I fell forward and got a scratch and so I got 2 more tries! I throw it as far as I could and got 25.1ft and so I got 3rd place out of all the seventh graders! Then I ran the 100 meters and got 4th in that!! Then they asked me to run the 4 by 200 race and the melody relay! :) It was an awsome day and I had alot of fun with all my friends on the track team!! :) P.S (Sorry if this dosent make sense! )

"For where your heart is, there will be your Treasure also"

I blogged this once and it got erased so here is the story of my "Treasure". We saw an ad on the Utah classifieds from a lady in Utah named Denise. She was looking for someone between 12 to 18 years of age to give a horse to. We started writing to her and found out she was going to make the decision of whom to give the horse to on July 30th-one day before my 12th birthday! We kept writing to her back and forth and finally she said she had gotten about 200 letters from girls but it had come down to me and one other autistic girl. She decided that the autistic girl was the one who was going to get her horse-"Saraphin". Then they found out that the horse was pregnant and going to have a baby in March. When Denise tried to contact the people with the autistic girl, they never answered back so Denise said we could get her. My Mom and I drove down to Salt Lake, actually South Jordan, and met Denise and Saraphin. She is a beautiful horse with dark brown eyes. We changed her name because I kept calling her Saffron. One day my mom said "I hope Denise knows how much we treasure this horse that she gave us." and that is where the name came from and has since stuck. She is a funny horse. Denise told us when we go to bridle her that she will run from us. She does until she has decided that she is ready to let you put it on, then she stops in her tracks, looks at you like "come on now, what's taking you so long?!" She has corrupted Teton into being as aloof and snooty as she is, but we love her to pieces. She is getting used to me now and will let me crawl under her, put the halter on her, pet her face, and come to me when I want to put her blanket on-if I have a treat! She will always be "the lady" to me. Thanks so much Denise for such a great horse!
